This week is National Composites Week and Penta Pattern & Model Ltd are joining the celebrations as part of an effort to promote the innovation and creativity fuelling growth in the composites industry and to draw attention to the outstanding opportunities that a career in the industry can provide. Planned activities include a video tour of the composites department, staff Q & A's and social media posts.
National Composites Week, being held August 22-26, 2022, is an annual national event celebrated at the local level and supported by thousands of companies throughout the composites industry supply chain as they host students, teachers, parents, jobseekers and other community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase composites manufacturing technologies and careers.
“In our line of work, which primarily involves working with Formula 1 teams, composites are essential. This is because they have a great strength to weight ratio which is a very desired quality.” said Neil Walker, Managing Director at Penta Pattern & Model Ltd.
“They also have the ability to mould to any shape, don’t require a lot of or any maintenance and have excellent fatigue resistance which increases a products lifespan.
“Even in our day to day lives, composites are everywhere. Probably more than we realise. From bathtubs and shower stalls to bicycles and even shoes!”
