CNC Setter Operator

 

 

Job description

This is a full-time on-site role as a CNC Setter Operator. The CNC Setter Operator is responsible for setting up, running, and ensuring that our 5 axis CNC milling machines operate correctly. They will need experience in a pattern and model making setting, and maintain close communication with the team to ensure work is being produced on time and to the required standard.

Role requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience setting and operating CNC machines.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings.
  • Ability to set up the machines including, but not limited to, selection of tools and holders, fixtures, jaws, chuck, and collets, stock material, and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard work, basic control programs, and work instructions.
  • Experience with materials such as model board and aluminium.
  • Methodical with good organisation and communication skills.
  • General workshop and hand tool skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Bonus Skills

  • Holds a valid forklift/counterbalance licence
  • Has experience with PowerMill and/or HyperMill
  • Experience with other materials, such as brass, bronze, GRP, CFRP, timber, and plastics
  • Experience with Mazak and CMS(Fanuc) CNC Machines
