Job description
This is a full-time job role for a CAD/CAM Engineer. The position involves CAD/CAM work for a variety of projects, including those for the motorsport, automotive, furniture, and artwork sectors. The general CAD tasks will involve using Geomagic DesignX, Delcam/Autodesk PowerShape, and Autodesk Fusion to carry out modelling from scratch, reverse engineering from scan data, and modification of existing models, as well as design and creation of patterns and tools/moulds from component data. CAM tasks involve using OpenMind HyperMill and Delcam/Autodesk PowerMill to create 3 axis, 3+2 axis, and 5 axis toolpaths for our Mazak and CMS CNC milling machines.
Role requirements
- Proficient in reading, understanding, and producing technical drawings
- Experience with PowerMill and/or HyperMill
- Experience with programming Epoxy and Polyurethane tooling boards, as well as softer metals, such as aluminium
- Able to listen to and follow instructions, take responsibility for their own work and provide clear instructions for CNC operators
- Able to work well within a team and have good organisational and communication skills
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
